Kanchi Arni sarees are handwoven from pure mulberry silk in the Arni and Kanchipuram weaving belt of Tamil Nadu. Their defining feature is the korvai technique, where the contrast border and pallu are woven separately and interlocked with the body by hand, giving the join its characteristic strength. The weave is dense and weighty, which is why these sarees drape with a distinct fall and are traditionally chosen for weddings and temple occasions. - What is the difference between Kanchi Arni and Kanchipuram sarees?
- Both come from the same weaving tradition in northern Tamil Nadu, and Arni sits close to Kanchipuram. Arni weavers typically produce lighter sarees with finer zari work, while classic Kanchipuram pattu tends to be heavier with denser zari. Both use pure mulberry silk and the korvai contrast border technique.
- Are your sarees Silk Mark certified?

- How should I wash and store a silk saree?
- Dry clean only. Never machine wash or wring a pure silk saree. Store it folded in a cotton or muslin cloth rather than plastic, refold along different lines every few months so permanent creases do not set at the same points, and keep it out of direct sunlight, which fades natural dyes.
