Tissue cotton silk blends a cotton foundation with fine silk and zari threads, producing a fabric that is sheer and noticeably light while keeping a subtle shimmer. Because cotton breathes where pure silk insulates, these sarees are far more comfortable through Indian summers and long daytime functions. The trade-off is structure: tissue sarees crease more readily than a heavier weave, so they are best stored folded with tissue paper between the layers.

How should I wash and store a silk saree?
Dry clean only. Never machine wash or wring a pure silk saree. Store it folded in a cotton or muslin cloth rather than plastic, refold along different lines every few months so permanent creases do not set at the same points, and keep it out of direct sunlight, which fades natural dyes.
